Update, Here's today's video and check out this link http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.ca/2013/06/kitsilano-kite-festival-video.html to see videos of few years back.

We had so much fun at the 38th Annual Pacific Rim Kite Festival today! This is about our 8 or 9th year.  And the 3rd year Angel was lucky enough to get a Teddy Bear. So much Fun!!

If you haven't been you should definitely try to go next year.

You will see amazing kitefliers and beautiful kites.

Just a note here, please use common sense and show respect. Kite can cost 1000's of dollars. Do not touch or let children play on any kites that may be set up. They are for looking only. This year there were some lovely little turtles but some people were letting their young ones jump on them. Some kind man had graciously volunteered at the event and it's sad that people would not be more thoughtful.

That said it was a wonderful event. The Teddy Bear Drop is alway HUGE FUN!! They put the Teddy Bear way up high on a Big Kite and then let him or her go...s/he is wearing a parachute and a child is waiting below. The kids run and catch the bear and get to keep it.

It's all graciously donated by the BC Kitefliers Assocation. You can visit their website here.  http://bcka.bc.ca/38th-annual-pacific-rim-kite-festival/
